What REALLY Needs to Get Done, But You’d Rather Have a Spanking?

As caregivers, we all know there are things we need to do that we’d just as soon have a spanking with a ruler than do them.
What if you had a foolproof, no-fail, anyone-can-do-this tip that could get you closer to getting that thing done?
Well, that tip comes from author and blogger Susie deVille (how fun a name is that?!).
Here it is: “Start with the smallest version of the habit you want to build. Then make it smaller. Choose something so simple you cannot talk yourself out of it. That small step becomes your daily practice, no matter how busy or distracted life gets. It could be as simple as writing one sentence, doing one lap around the block, or sitting quietly for one minute.”
Think about that.
Take the smallest version of the thing you must get done (or a step towards your goal). Then make it smaller.
I mean, how hard is that?!!
deVille is the author of Buoyant and offers a free, weekly blog. You can register for it at innovationandcreativityinstitute.com.
We all have responsibilities/jobs/chores we have to do; some are relatively easy, but just a hassle; some seem to be in another universe. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t get them done.
We just need a start. And, that start, as you see above, can be so small that you’re crazy or terminally lazy if you don’t try it.
So, what do YOU need to make smaller?
